The manufacture of the shoe—hand sewing the top quality leather welting through the upper to the insoles—allows the top of the shoe to be removed and reattached with a new welt, and then restored to look as graceful and elegant as a nearly new shoe, with all the comfort of one that is “broken in.”The process requires the utmost in skillful craftsmanship and shoemaking experience, and this is assured when experienced company craftsmen, at the original factory, perform the work. We can arrange to have any shoe you have purchased from us (sorry, we can only provide this service for our own sales) repaired by either Crockett & Jones or Alden, as appropriate to the make, if you send the shoes to us at our distribution center along with your customer information.When you have a hole in the sole of a shoe, or you just need to have it reconditioned, as the shoes shown below for illustration, we will send it to the factory in either England or Massachusetts for expert attention.
